Moving Stars

Durden Art

Regular price $25.00

This piece is based on Norman Rockwell’s “New Kids In the Neighborhood.” Rockwell was making a statement about racial integration in the 1950’s. Black families were moving into white neighborhoods for the first time but the children weren’t conscious of the racial boundaries. They were just anxious to meet the new kids. With buckteeth, braces, and glasses there’s plenty to pick on all around in this scene. We all need time to evolve into the masters of the Force or the beautiful strong-willed princess we have inside.
