We are a life distracted by consumer products, taught to sit on command, and purchase on impulse. Practicing our dissatisfaction and under-appreciating the next breakthrough that makes our latest limitation become our next convenience. We devour the next corn syrup filled garbage to fall from the table of corporate America. We turn ignorantly to the global storytellers to spin our feelings and give importance to popular culture to distract from the latest rape of resources. We are told what to buy, what color to look for, and how to pose for the sexiest selfie. We fall further into the static of empty currency ever-coveting the shiny object that lies just over the fence. We turn the seven hundredth channel and devour a commercial advertisement forced into our psyche by a government who sold another billboard location. We sacrifice our vote to a multiple choice question without the option of a correct answer. We removed our training wheels on the path to forgetting what it feels like to be alive. We are the next modified crop and now our clothing is just another reminder to “obey”. Your hard drive is for sale.
